With support from a local training provider in Coventry and Deby Homer from Deby James Associates we developed and delivered a voluntary I.T training programme called…...Learn IT. The training was held at a local training provider and delivered on a Friday by Deby over a 9 month period. Over 40 of our employees some 20% of the workforce were provided with training in the following topics:
These were delivered at beginner, intermediate and advanced levels.
The ‘Learn I.T.’ programme as we called it was a great success story with many of our employees attending all 10 sessions. What made the course so successful was Deby’s approach to delivering learning. Some of the employees had never switched on a PC, and had no idea why we needed a mouse! But after many Friday’s under Debys’ tutelage they were able to write letters, create spreadsheets and assist their children and grandchildren with their homework!
